Singaporeans are calling for improvements to the Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) registration and activation system, including the linking of the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag to the Touch ‘n Go application, following its full enforcement at the Malaysia-Singapore land border crossings starting on Tuesday. (July 1).
Bernama checks at the VEP registration centre at Jalan Skudai, Danga Bay, found Singaporean vehicle owners lining up as early as 8.30 am to register, install RFID tags, and resolve issues related to the inability to link their RFID tags to the Touch ‘n Go app.
There are many advantages of RFID vehicle management, as follows:
Efficiency Improvement
RFID technology can realize rapid vehicle identification and information collection. For example, there is no need for manual registration in parking lot management. The system automatically records the vehicle entry time, allocates parking spaces and calculates fees, greatly shortening the waiting time.
Precise Management
By binding vehicle information (such as license plate number, owner data, etc.) with electronic tags, the system can track the vehicle location and status in real time, support permission management (such as restricting unauthorized vehicles from entering specific areas), and improve the level of safety management.
Cost Control
Reduce labor costs by about 70%, while reducing losses caused by human errors. For example, logistics parks use RFID to achieve automated weighing, saving millions of yuan in procurement budget each year.
Data Security
Use encryption protocols to protect vehicle information and prevent data leakage. The system automatically generates audit reports, and the compliance inspection time is shortened by 80%.
