On the highway, the manual toll collection method of one car per pole, with low efficiency of passage, high operation cost and complicated management problems, makes it difficult for each highway to achieve fast and smooth operation, which affects the growth and development of the economy. ETC technology uses rfid tags as data carriers, and realizes data exchange through radio wave transmission, so as to achieve the purpose of remote reading of the data in the toll uhf rfid reader and frequency radio tags: The uhf rfid reader can read the inherent information about the vehicle stored in the rfid tag (such as license plate number, vehicle category, owner information, etc.), levy status information, vehicle operation record, and then according to the charge standard, through calculation, deduct the passage cost of this vehicle, and will deduct information recorded to the rfid tag. When the vehicle enters the working area of the toll lane entrance reader, the dormant RFID tag wakes up and starts working due to the microwave stimulation issued by the reader. RFID tags respond to requests from RFID readers and send out the vehicle information carried by the tags. When the vehicle enters the working area of the toll lane exit reader, the lane RFID reader reads the information in the rfid card and uploads the information to the lane controller, the controller confirms that the account is valid, carries out the deduction, and uploads the data to the toll station management system, then the toll station management system continues to upload the data to the management center, and at the same time, the controller opens the ramp barrier and releases the vehicle. In case of vehicles with invalid radio frequency card or without card, RFID reader will block ramp and intercept vehicles by confirming radio frequency card.


The Management Center is responsible for the statistics and storage of the data uploaded by the system. The settlement center will make statistics on the charging information transmitted by the management center, establish reports, and transmit the statistical data to the bank. After the bank receives the collected toll data of each toll settlement center, it deducts the toll from each account and calculates the balance, transfers it to the corresponding account, forms a statement and returns it to the settlement center for storage and filing management.
